3.8 Goddess Day | Quanzhou Wurong Sports’ “Adorning Flowers to Welcome Spring” Journey
March—the most beautiful month of the year—brings forth spring flowers in full bloom, showcasing fresh and vibrant beauty. In this season of gentle breezes and abundant vitality, International Women’s Day arrives as scheduled. To enrich employees’ work and life, enhance the festive atmosphere, and ensure that every female employee has a joyful and meaningful holiday, the company has carefully planned a special “Goddess Day” event—experiencing the traditional intangible cultural heritage of Quanzhou’s hair ornaments.
Quanzhou in Fujian is a city with a long history and rich cultural heritage. Among its traditional crafts, Quanzhou hair ornaments—known as "zhan hua"—stand out for their unique artistic value and deep historical significance. The designs of Quanzhou zhan hua are incredibly diverse, featuring classic floral motifs such as plum blossoms, orchids, and peonies, as well as various auspicious patterns like butterflies and magpies. Each zhan hua design carries profound symbolic meaning. This time, Wurong from Quanzhou has chosen zhan hua as a festive gift, inviting everyone to experience this intangible cultural heritage. Beyond conveying hopes for a better life and good fortune, as a locally rooted Quanzhou enterprise, Wurong is also actively carrying forward and preserving Quanzhou’s traditional culture.
On March 8, all the female employees of Wurong gathered in Xunpu Village, Quanzhou. Adorned with flower wreaths, large-collared shirts, and wide-leg trousers—each woman dressed up in Xunpu Village’s signature attire. Their heads were adorned with clusters of colorful flowers, and everyone wore smiles on their faces.
